Streams In The Wasteland

Sometimes in life, and even our faith journey, we can feel worn out, tired and dry.  Like we're merely existing in a wasteland or desert with no hope of refreshing.  For many, this reality is compounded by the everyday disappointments we experience.

However, God's promises of relief and sustained grace nourish and invigorate us.  His truth and love are like streams of cool running water in the wastelands of life.  Those dry seasons of difficulty give way to refreshing, rejuvenating ones when we place our hope in Jesus.  He longs for us to recognize the new life He is breathing into our lives.

Its hard to see God's hand at work sometimes when we're down.  Sometimes we need a reminder... that God is always doing a new thing- always moving forward, always bringing hope to desperate situations and proving His great love for us.  His will always has the best in mind for us.

This truth has inspired a creative project from some very talented people within our Church community.  The imagery of Isaiah 43:19- streams in the wilderness- new things- new life... has revealed the new life within our church community that He is driving!  Praise God for what He's doing at CLC!

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
— Isaiah 43:19 NIV

We were inspired by Isaiah 43:19... that God is doing new things at CLC!  And despite, our valley's severe drought, God has sustained us through his spirit and blessings.  Particularly in the blessing of our children and the scenic beauty that we see all around Ojai.

These paintings, sculptures, photographs and video are all inspired by the imagery Isaiah 43:19 and the life of our church community.   These creative expressions represent the passion and worship from the CLC Expressions Team, a collective of artists, worshipers, photographers and visionaries dedicated to expressing worship in creative forms.  All for the glory of God.

Be blessed and share,
